Aftercare Guide
PRP Aftercare
PRP works by harnessing your body's own growth factors to stimulate renewal. Results develop gradually over 4–6 weeks — trust the process and protect your investment with the right aftercare.
Before your treatment
Hydrate well in the 24–48 hours before treatment — PRP works with your blood, so good hydration improves quality.
Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen) for 7 days before treatment, as these reduce platelet effectiveness. Consult your GP before stopping any prescribed medication.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment.
Eat a nutritious meal before your appointment — blood draw on an empty stomach can cause light-headedness.
Avoid smoking in the 24 hours before treatment — nicotine impairs blood vessel function and healing.
After your treatment
Redness and mild swelling at injection sites is normal for 24–48 hours.
Avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours — UV impairs the healing response that PRP relies on.
Apply SPF 30+ (SPF 50+ recommended) whenever going outside from this point forward.
Use gentle, fragrance-free skincare only for the first 48 hours. Avoid active ingredients (retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C serums) for 48 hours.
Do not apply makeup for 12–24 hours after treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Continue to stay well hydrated — this supports the healing and regenerative process.
Avoid anti-inflammatory medications for 5 days after treatment — these can blunt the inflammatory response that is part of PRP's mechanism.
Your results timeline
Initial redness and possible swelling at injection sites — completely normal.
Subtle improvements in skin quality, hydration, and radiance begin to emerge.
Full results of each session become visible as new collagen matures and growth factor activity peaks.
A course of 3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, is recommended for best results. The cumulative effect of multiple treatments is significantly greater than a single session.
Maintenance results after a full course. A single annual session can sustain improvements.
